I'm not going to lie, these projects can be challenging, especially the gloves. But you'll get the hang of it.
Chrocheting gloves is addicting after you get into the rhythm. They're pretty quick to do. You can complete a pair in a couple of weeks
of evening crocheting (all-day crocheters can finish a glove in a day).
These custom wearables make great gifts.
I've seen a "no gauge" glove pattern on Ravelery, but I'm a bit sceptical.
An accurate gauge is essential for these patterns. Crochet the gauge swatch with the same yarn, hook and stitch
you will use for the project.
Let me show you how the gloves are crocheted from cuff to thumb without cutting the yarn.
The ribbed cuff is created by working front and back post half-double crochet (fbpHDC) in the round.
The lower hand is developed in the round and then rows are used to create a thumb cutout.
The knuckle-side panel of each finger is developed and then tapered with a short row wedge.
The wedge is turned in to create the palm-side panel with is joined to the knuckle-side panel at the end of each row.
The palm-side panel is joined to the hand section using Back-Loop-Only to Back-Loop-Only slip stitches.
The thumb is crocheted in the round
