Doc's Crochet Corner: Doc is a recently retired surgeon living on Amelia Island in Northeastern Florida.
His crochet journey started with a kit his daughter gave him for Christmas. His wife was pleased to
discover that crochet empowered him to sit and talk to another human for up to an hour -
a skill he previously lacked. It is a mystery why gloves have captured his attention - but it is notable that
after his mother taught him to sew at age 7 he started making gloves.
His exploration of yarns, hook sizes and crochet stitches is mostly through the sock lens. He saw custom patterns from
foot and ankle measurements as a way to crochet socks that fit and then adapted that to gloves. He has been a hobby software coder for decades (CaGene
is his best known program). Coding a web application to generate custom wearble crochet patterns seems a natural evolution.
When he is not coding or crocheting he enjoys sailing and making life-hack videos
